Dr. Kim Hurley is a nurse practitioner who lives in Moline, IL.  She has a daughter, Devon, who is currently in school for nursing. Kim recently added a daughter-in-law and granddaughter to her family, making it complete. She enjoys reading, traveling, going to baseball games and taking road trips with her family in her free time.

 

Kim says “I had wanted to obtain my doctorate for as long as I remember, after having a lot of experiences in health care with being a pediatric leukemia survivor. I have been in the healthcare field since I graduated high school, as a CNA at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley. I soon recognized that I wanted to pursue my education in nursing from Black Hawk College and became a registered nurse at Trinity Medical Center, from 2005-2011. I worked on the pediatric unit, where I found my initial love and passion in nursing.  Upon finishing my master’s degree, I taught nursing from 2011-2022. 

 

I found my second passion in 2020, when I was able to locate a headache specialist locally. She changed my life. After experiencing years of constant and daily migraines, I finally had a few headache-free days a month and haven’t looked back. In 2022, I completed my doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Illinois at Chicago as a family nurse practitioner and began practicing as a headache provider with the provider who saved my life. 

 

My practice and research interests include headache disorders/cyclic vomiting syndrome and pediatrics; I have a special interest in pediatric headache disorders and providing excellent care for children in this subspecialty that was not previously available in the Quad Cities.”
